Free Quote Requests

The Free Quote form is provided using Forminator. When you submit the form, the information you provide may be stored within the WordPress website and on the website server.

Uploaded photographs may therefore be stored both on the website/server and within email systems.

We use this information to review your enquiry, assess whether the requested work may be suitable for the mobile service, provide a quote, communicate with you and, where you choose to proceed, arrange and manage the repair.

Your email address is collected for administration of the review and is not intended to be displayed publicly.

Our Lawful Bases for Using Personal Information

UK data protection law requires us to have a lawful basis for using personal information. The lawful basis will depend on why the information is being used.

Contract or Steps Before Entering Into a Contract

We may process information where this is necessary to respond to a quote request, discuss proposed work, arrange a repair or provide a service you have requested.

Legitimate Interests

We may process information where reasonably necessary to operate the business, respond to customers, administer reviews, maintain appropriate records, improve services, maintain and secure the website, prevent spam or abuse and protect our legal or business interests.

Legal Obligation

We may process or retain information where necessary to comply with applicable legal, tax, accounting, regulatory or other obligations.

Consent

Where consent is required, including for certain non-essential cookies and analytics technologies, we may rely on your consent.

Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.

Google Analytics and Search Console

This website uses Google Site Kit and Google Analytics to help us understand how the website is used.

Google Analytics may process information such as:

  • Pages visited
  • Website interactions
  • Browser and device information
  • Approximate location information
  • Technical identifiers

Non-essential analytics technologies are managed through the website’s consent system where required. You can use the cookie consent controls on the website to manage your choices.

Google Search Console is also used to understand how the website performs in Google Search.

The information available to Scuffs N Wheels through Search Console is primarily aggregated search performance information and is not used by Scuffs N Wheels to identify individual website visitors.

Google reCAPTCHA

The quote form uses Google reCAPTCHA v2, including the visible “I’m not a robot” verification, to help protect the website and forms from spam, automated submissions and abuse.

When reCAPTCHA is used, Google may process technical information about your device, browser, IP address and interactions with the website to help determine whether a submission appears to be made by a genuine user.

Google’s own privacy terms apply to its processing of this information.

WhatsApp Business

The website provides links that allow you to contact Scuffs N Wheels using WhatsApp Business.

If you choose to use WhatsApp, information such as your telephone number, profile information, messages, photographs and other content you send may be processed through WhatsApp and Meta’s systems as well as being received by Scuffs N Wheels.

Your use of WhatsApp is also subject to WhatsApp’s own privacy terms.

You are not required to use WhatsApp and may use the website quote form instead.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

This website uses cookies and similar technologies for purposes such as website functionality, security, consent management and analytics.

Where consent is required for non-essential cookies, they should not be used until you have made the appropriate choice through the website’s consent controls.

You can change your cookie choices using the consent options available on the website.

For more information about the cookies and similar technologies used on this website, please see our Cookies Policy.

Who We May Share Personal Information With

Personal information may be shared where reasonably necessary with organisations or individuals that help us operate the website, communicate with customers or provide and administer the business.

These may include:

  • Website hosting, maintenance and technical support providers
  • Email service providers
  • Google services, including Google Analytics, Google Search Console, reCAPTCHA and Gmail
  • WhatsApp and Meta when you choose to communicate using WhatsApp
  • Professional advisers such as accountants, insurers or legal advisers where appropriate
  • Suppliers, subcontractors or other service providers where reasonably necessary in connection with work requested by a customer
  • Courts, regulators, law enforcement agencies, government bodies or other parties where disclosure is required or permitted by law

We only intend to share the information reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose.

Personal information is not sold to third parties.

Website Hosting and Backups

The website and its email service are hosted on a KnownHost virtual private server located in the Netherlands.

Information submitted through the website, website databases, uploaded files and emails may therefore be stored on this server.

Nightly server backups are also taken.

Backups may contain copies of personal information held by the website or email systems and are retained for a limited period in accordance with the applicable hosting and backup schedule before being overwritten or deleted.

Because backup systems are designed for security and disaster recovery, information deleted from the active website or email system may remain within a backup temporarily until that backup is overwritten or expires.

International Data Processing

Some of the service providers used by this website, including Google, Gmail, WhatsApp and Meta, may process or store personal information in countries outside the United Kingdom.

Where personal information is transferred internationally, appropriate legal safeguards will be used where required by applicable data protection law. These may include applicable adequacy arrangements or approved contractual safeguards.

How Long We Keep Personal Information

We do not use one fixed retention period for every type of personal information.

Information is kept only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected and for any related business, legal, accounting, insurance, aftercare, dispute resolution or regulatory requirements.

For example:

  • Quote enquiries and uploaded photographs may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to deal with the enquiry and any resulting work or follow-up
  • Customer and job information may be retained where needed for business records, accounting, tax, aftercare, insurance or potential disputes
  • Published reviews may remain on the website until they are removed, are no longer required or the website review system is changed
  • Analytics information is retained according to the settings and retention arrangements used by the relevant analytics provider
  • Information contained in server backups may remain until the relevant backup is overwritten or deleted in accordance with the backup schedule

Keeping Personal Information Secure

Reasonable technical and organisational measures are used to protect personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, loss, misuse or disclosure.

These may include:

  • Website and server security measures
  • Controlled administrative access
  • Server backups
  • Spam and abuse protection
  • The use of established service providers

However, no website, email system or method of internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Marketing

The website does not currently operate a marketing mailing list.

Customer contact information may be used for communications connected with an enquiry, quote, repair, aftercare or reasonable service-related follow-up.

If direct marketing communications are introduced in the future, they will only be sent where permitted by applicable law.

Where consent is required, it will be obtained before marketing is sent. Where applicable, recipients will also be given a way to opt out of further marketing communications.

  • The right to request access to personal information held about you
  • The right to ask for inaccurate or incomplete information to be corrected
  • The right to ask for personal information to be deleted in certain circumstances
  • The right to ask for the use of your information to be restricted in certain circumstances
  • The right to object to certain uses of your personal information
  • The right to data portability in certain circumstances
  • The right to withdraw consent where processing is based on your consent

If you would like to exercise any of these rights, please email mattyhowes85@gmail.com.

Your Right to Object
